Peter Lewis is Senior Editor, Personal Technology, at FORTUNE magazine, responsible for coverage of the consumer electronics and personal computer industries. Before joining FORTUNE in 2000, Lewis was a Senior Writer, columnist and reporter for The New York Times. From 1984 to 1996 he wrote the weekly Personal Computers column for The Times, while also serving as assistant financial editor and assistant science editor of the paper. In 1996 he helped start an Internet company, ideaMarket, which FORTUNE named one of the "Cool Companies" of 1997. The company folded a few weeks later.
