Roger Cochetti is Group Director of U.S. Public Policy for CompTIA. He is responsible for guiding the Association's US federal and state public policy in the interests of CompTIA's members. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Policy Officer of VeriSign, acting as the company's primary liaison with governments at all levels. Earlier, Mr. Cochetti had directed global Internet and e-commerce-related policy/regulatory activities for IBM Corporation and had held a variety of executive positions with COMSAT Corporation and with the US International Development Cooperation Agency (IDCA).
Mr. Cochetti has helped found and served on the board of directors of several IT-related organizations, including TRUSTe, the Internet Law and Policy Forum (ILPF), the Internet Education Foundation, the Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA), the ICANN Names Council, the Executives group of the President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC), the Electronic Authentication Partnership (EAP), and many others. He has also testified before Congress on Internet and e-commerce related issues and is the author of several books and articles on Internet and telecommunications topics. He is listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World. Roger is a graduate of Georgetown University and resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
